This policy describes how Tether AI (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use trytether.ai and related services. Tether is designed to be privacy-first by architecture: your data lives in your account, you can read it, edit it, and delete it.
When you sign in with Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo to create your account. We do not access your Google data beyond what you explicitly authorize.
Tether operates over SMS and Telegram. Messages you send are processed by our assistant and stored as conversation history under your account. On Telegram, voice messages are temporarily processed for transcription and not stored as audio files. Voice memos are not currently supported on SMS.
When Tether is added to a group chat, it silently captures messages so that members can later ask for recaps, action items, or decisions. Group memory is strictly isolated: it cannot be read by your personal assistant or anyone outside the group. Any member can opt out of capture at any time by sending tether opt out in the group. The member who added Tether can also remove the bot, which deletes all captured content for that group.
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we access only the specific data needed to fulfill your requests (e.g., reading calendar events, creating events). We do not store your calendar data permanently. Access and refresh tokens are stored securely and used only when you or your assistant makes a request. You can disconnect Google at any time from your dashboard, which revokes our access.
If you choose to connect Notion, we access only the pages and databases you explicitly authorize during the Notion OAuth flow. We use that access to search, read, create, and append pages on your behalf when you ask the assistant to. We do not store the contents of your Notion pages in our own database — page content is fetched live each time you request it. Access and refresh tokens are stored securely. You can disconnect Notion at any time from your dashboard.
Your messages and the relevant slice of your memory are sent to third-party large-language-model providers to generate responses. We do not allow these providers to train on your data. Providers may change over time; we use providers under enterprise-grade data processing terms.
Your data is stored in secure, encrypted databases hosted on Vercel and Neon. We do not sell, share, or rent your data to third parties.
